Your Opportunity:
The Office of the Registrar at U of T Mississauga plays a crucial role in delivering essential registrarial services that align with the academic objectives of the university. Our mission centers on effective strategic enrollment management, focusing on student recruitment, retention, success, and graduation. In a culture that values cooperation and collaboration, we strive to achieve our goals through student-centered solutions, integrity in academic records, and continuous improvement. As an Admissions Officer, you will report to the Assistant Director of Admissions and collaborate with the Student Recruitment and Admissions team to devise and implement strategies aimed at enhancing enrollment intake.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Administering a consistent evaluation process for applications based on established standards.
- Providing guidance to prospective applicants, students, and their families regarding admissions criteria and processes.
- Reviewing and evaluating admissions applications with precision.
- Communicating detailed explanations of admissions decisions to applicants.
- Ensuring compliance with transfer credit regulations and guidelines.
- Delivering comprehensive information on policies and procedures.
- Staying informed about current technologies and best practices in the field.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of four years of experience in registrarial services within a post-secondary institution.
- Experience in reviewing and advising undergraduate students on admissions and transfer credit processes.
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international educational systems.
- Proven understanding of undergraduate admissions and transfer credit assessment.
- Strong familiarity with undergraduate policies and admission requirements.
- Proficiency in student information systems and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact and sound judgment.
- Superior organizational abilities to manage competing priorities effectively.
