ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Investment Analyst, Real Estate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with investment managers to evaluate potential real estate opportunities across various asset classes, including residential, commercial, retail, and industrial properties.
  • Leading the development and validation of financial models pertinent to real estate investments in collaboration with fellow analysts.
  • Preparing comprehensive investment recommendation memorandums for approval processes.
  • Conducting cash flow analyses and assessing projected returns.
  • Evaluating the impact of varying assumptions on performance metrics such as revenue, operating expenses, financing, and taxation.
  • Identifying and analyzing investment risks associated with potential transactions.
  • Reviewing the asset's operating budget and financial statements for accuracy and performance insights.
  • Examining partnership structures to ensure alignment with investment goals.
  • Participating in the preparation and presentation of investment opportunities during regular committee meetings.
  • Supporting investment managers throughout the due diligence process, including summarizing and following up on external reports.
  • Assisting in the drafting of essential administrative documents, including business plans and management presentations.
  • Collaborating with investment managers in the active management of the real estate portfolio, conducting market research and analysis by asset type and geography.
  • Monitoring real estate market values and appraisals to inform investment decisions.
  • Keeping track of relevant real estate indexes to assess market trends.

Some travel may be required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Real Estate, complemented by strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced degrees such as an MBA, CPA, or CFA designation are advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in real estate analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis of real estate transactions is a significant asset.
  • High level of competency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with ARGUS and @risk software is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and French is preferred, with a willingness to learn if necessary.
