ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with investment professionals to evaluate potential real estate deals across diverse asset categories such as residential, commercial, retail, and industrial. You will take the lead in developing and validating financial models pertinent to real estate investments (both debt and equity) in partnership with analysts.
    - Leading the preparation of investment recommendation documents for approval
    - Assessing cash flows and projected returns
    - Evaluating the effects of various assumptions on performance metrics: revenue, operating costs, financing, taxation, fees, etc.
    - Identifying investment risks
    - Reviewing the asset's operational budget and financial statements
    - Analyzing partnership structures
    - Contributing to the preparation and presentation of investment opportunities at committee meetings
  • Supporting investment managers during the due diligence phase
    - Summarizing and tracking external reports (physical, environmental, financial, legal, tax, insurance, etc.)
  • Assisting in the creation of administrative documents such as business plans for assets, asset management presentations, partner evaluations, and reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Working alongside investment managers in the active management of our real estate portfolio
    - Conducting research and analysis of real estate markets by asset type and region for targeted investments. Regularly reviewing real estate business plans and analyzing deviations from budgets
    - Monitoring real estate market values and appraisals
    - Keeping track of real estate indices

Some travel may be required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Real Estate, complemented by strong analytical skills
  • Advanced degrees such as M.Sc. in Finance, MBA, CPA, or CFA designation are advantageous
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Experience in analyzing real estate transactions is a significant asset
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with ARGUS and @risk software is a plus
  • Proficient communication skills in English and French (or a willingness to learn) are essential for interactions with various stakeholders.
