Position Overview:

The role of the Project Coordinator is pivotal in driving physician engagement initiatives and overseeing project-related activities within the Strategic Zone Recruitment Service. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Direct interaction and management of physician leads, inquiries, and applicants.
  • Participation in exhibitions and conferences for local and regional recruitment events.
  • Development and management of outreach campaigns for both regional and international recruitment.
  • Oversight of third-party recruitment agreements and formulation of engagement strategies.
  • Collaboration with Medical Affairs teams to identify, share, and implement best practices in recruitment.

The Project Coordinator operates in a hybrid capacity, balancing project responsibilities with external engagement with recruitment leads. Key duties include:

  • Working closely with AHS Medical Affairs teams to assess and prioritize recruitment needs.
  • Planning and executing recruitment strategies while evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative recruitment atmosphere.
  • Managing inquiries from foreign physicians interested in relocating to Canada, as well as recent Canadian medical graduates or practicing physicians exploring opportunities in Alberta.

This position reports to the Manager of Central Zone Medical Affairs, with functional guidance from the Lead of Physician Recruitment and Engagement. Additionally, the Project Coordinator may oversee the activities of assigned project team members.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A post-secondary degree in communications, business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience; equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five to seven years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with the physician recruitment landscape and a solid understanding of Medical Affairs or recruitment processes.
  • A proven ability to build networks with diverse stakeholders to address complex challenges.
  • Capability to identify and leverage opportunities for quality improvement within established projects and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-direction.
  • Understanding and effective application of change management principles.
