Manufacturing Strategy Director

SmartSkin Technologies is looking for a proactive and innovative Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations to spearhead the enhancement and expansion of our manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will possess a robust background in the production of small electronic devices and demonstrate a proven track record in formulating and implementing a transformative manufacturing strategy. This position is essential for scaling our operations, refining our supply chain, and meeting our production and quality objectives. The Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations will be pivotal in driving our operational success.
Strategic Leadership:
- Craft and implement a visionary manufacturing strategy for the upcoming 3-5 years.
- Guide the necessary actions to enhance current operations while realizing the new strategic vision.
Operational Excellence:
- Refine lab-scale manufacturing processes for scalability and introduce cost-effective, innovative practices.
- Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
- Establish benchmark expectations, ensure accountability, and provide progress updates.
- Develop protocols to reduce errors and quality concerns, ensuring deliverables align with budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance product design for scalable manufacturing.
- Oversee logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, and warehouse operations, while improving supply chain efficiency to support growth.
Team Management:
- Enhance team productivity while ensuring a seamless transition to new performance standards and operational culture.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including assembly, quality assurance, calibration, and supply chain.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, teamwork, and innovation.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and performance assessments.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, finance, and engineering to align team efforts with business objectives and market needs.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure production adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and relevant regulations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading high-quality manufacturing assembly operations, with experience in small electronic device production being advantageous.
- A dynamic and engaging personality with a natural ability for effective daily management and leading change.
- Demonstrated capability to formulate and execute a transformative manufacturing strategy, with strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and process enhancement.
- Extensive experience in outsourcing manufacturing processes and optimizing supply chains.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to travel internationally for benchmarking and partnership development.
