While our engineering and production activities primarily take place in New Brunswick, Canada, we are expanding our global footprint with team members in various international locations.
We are in search of a highly motivated and dynamic Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations to spearhead the transformation and scaling of our manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in the manufacturing of small electronic devices and demonstrate a proven track record in developing and executing a transformative manufacturing vision. This pivotal role is essential for scaling our operations, enhancing our supply chain, and achieving our production and quality objectives. The position will be based in Fredericton, with opportunities for international travel for research, benchmarking, and partnership development.
Strategic Leadership- Formulate and implement a transformative manufacturing vision for the next 3-5 years.
- Lead initiatives necessary to scale current operations while realizing the new vision.
- Enhance lab-scale manufacturing for scalability and adopt cost-effective, innovative methods.
- Outsource and manage partnerships with contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
- Establish benchmark expectations, hold teams accountable, and provide progress reports.
- Develop procedures to minimize errors and quality issues, ensuring deliverables align with budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize product design for scalable manufacturing.
- Oversee logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, and warehouse operations, while improving supply chain efficiency to support growth.
- Drive significant improvements in team productivity while ensuring a seamless transition to new performance expectations and operating culture.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including assembly, quality assurance, calibration, and supply chain.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Manage recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, finance, and engineering to align team efforts with business needs and market demands.
- Ensure production adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015, as well as federal and provincial regulations.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- 10 years of experience in leading high-quality manufacturing assembly operations, with experience in manufacturing small electronic devices being an asset.
- Energetic and engaging personality with a natural aptitude for effective daily management and leading change.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a transformative manufacturing vision, along with excellent strategic planning, project management, and process improvement skills.
- Strong background in outsourcing manufacturing processes and optimizing supply chains.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to be based in Fredericton with international travel for benchmarking and partnership development. Relocation assistance will be considered.
