Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations to spearhead the enhancement and expansion of our manufacturing capabilities. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the production of small electronic devices and demonstrate a track record of crafting and implementing a transformative manufacturing strategy. This pivotal role will focus on scaling operations, refining the supply chain, and meeting production and quality benchmarks. The position is based in Fredericton, with opportunities for international travel to support research and partnership initiatives.
- Formulate and implement a transformative manufacturing strategy for the next 3-5 years.
- Direct the necessary actions to scale current operations while realizing the new strategic vision.
- Enhance lab-scale manufacturing processes for scalability and introduce cost-effective, innovative practices.
- Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
- Establish benchmark expectations, ensure accountability, and provide progress updates.
- Create procedures to reduce errors and quality issues, ensuring that deliverables align with budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine product designs for scalable manufacturing.
- Oversee logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, and warehouse operations, while improving supply chain efficiency to facilitate growth.
- Enhance team productivity while ensuring a seamless transition to new performance standards and operational culture.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including assembly, quality assurance, calibration, and supply chain.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and performance assessments.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, finance, and engineering to align team efforts with business objectives and market needs.
- Guarantee that production adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and relevant regulations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading high-quality manufacturing assembly operations, particularly in small electronic device production.
- A dynamic and engaging personality with a natural aptitude for effective management and change leadership.
- Proven capability to develop and execute a transformative manufacturing strategy, with strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and process improvement.
- Robust experience in outsourcing manufacturing processes and optimizing supply chains.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to be based in Fredericton with international travel for benchmarking and partnership development.
