We are in search of a proactive and visionary Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations to spearhead the enhancement and expansion of our manufacturing capabilities. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the production of small electronic devices and demonstrate a track record of formulating and implementing a transformative manufacturing strategy. This pivotal role is essential for scaling our operations, refining our supply chain, and meeting our production and quality objectives. The position will be based in Fredericton, with opportunities for international travel for research and partnership initiatives.
Strategic Leadership- Formulate and implement a transformative manufacturing strategy for the next 3-5 years.
- Guide the necessary actions to scale current operations while achieving the new strategic vision.
- Enhance lab-scale manufacturing for scalability and introduce cost-effective, innovative techniques.
- Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
- Establish benchmark expectations, ensure accountability, and provide progress updates.
- Create procedures to reduce errors and quality issues, ensuring deliverables align with budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine product designs for scalable manufacturing.
- Oversee logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, and warehouse operations, while improving supply chain efficiency to support growth.
- Enhance team productivity while facilitating a smooth transition to new performance standards and operational culture.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including assembly, quality assurance, calibration, and supply chain.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and performance assessments.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, finance, and engineering to align team efforts with business objectives and market needs.
- Ensure production adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 as well as federal and provincial regulations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading high-quality manufacturing assembly operations, particularly in small electronic devices.
- A dynamic and engaging personality with a natural aptitude for effective management and leading change.
- Proven capability to develop and execute a transformative manufacturing strategy, with strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and process improvement.
- Robust experience in outsourcing manufacturing processes and optimizing supply chains.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to be based in Fredericton with international travel for benchmarking and partnership development.
