Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst, Enterprise Solutions

Reports To: Technology Manager, Enterprise Solutions

Department: IT Corporate Services

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position. You will be required to work in our office a minimum of two (2) consecutive days every other week, plus an additional day each month. You are encouraged to work from the office more frequently if desired, and certain roles may necessitate more in-office presence.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly driven Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Enterprise Content Management IT team. In this capacity, the successful candidate will serve as a detail-oriented specialist, responsible for both business and technical analysis, aimed at enhancing efficiency and delivering business value to various teams. The role also encompasses the overall management of Non-Discretionary Production Support Incident Resolution and the handling of incoming Discretionary Enhancement Requests that support Equitable’s capture, imaging, and workflow applications across various business sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request Management:
    • Collaborate with business leaders to comprehend overall priorities for enhancement requests.
    • Manage a timeline of significant enhancement initiatives and their implementations.
    • Ensure that self-service reporting of all enhancement request activities is accessible to the business lines.
    • Gather essential information regarding requests to assess risks associated with releases or changes.
  • Project Delivery:
    • Conduct systems analysis, problem-solving, and translate business requirements into functional specifications for complex ECM and cross-system projects.
    • Review and provide feedback on functional specifications, system flow charts, diagrams, and technical architecture documents prepared by team BSAs.
    • Execute quality assurance testing, including the creation and execution of test strategies, plans, and cases, along with defect management to ensure solution quality and functional acceptability.
  • Production Support:
    • With a focus on customer service, analytical thinking, and technical expertise, this role will drive daily production support operations for the ECM support team.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide technical, task, and functional guidance to production support analysts and developers, including prioritization, resource allocation, operational process management, and quality assurance.
    • Mentor team members for professional growth and development, contributing to performance assessments and participating in the hiring and onboarding processes.
    • Actively engage in the Business Systems Analysis community of practice.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong expertise in writing functional requirements, use cases, and process flows.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead complex solution delivery in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Solid leadership skills in operational support, including collaboration with IT teams to troubleshoot system health and effectively communicate with business partners.
  • Expertise in Enterprise Workflow, case and queue management, or automation solutions, with experience in Hyland's OnBase and WorkView technologies considered an asset.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in conveying complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively mentor and coach staff regarding IT service issues and technologies.
  • Proficient in resource management related to scheduling, project execution, and daily operations.
  • A dedicated team player focused on customer service excellence and diligent process execution.
  • Team-oriented with strong partnership-building skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of individuals.
  • Expert knowledge of ITIL service management processes, particularly in Incident, Problem, Change, SLM, and Service Desk competencies.
  • In-depth understanding of application infrastructure, database, and technical platforms.
  • Experience with content management and workflow concepts, web and client/server architectures, database design, test management tools, and MS Office Tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, DB2, C#, .Net, and SOAP or REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies, and CI/DevOps practices.
  • University degree or equivalent technical education and experience.
