Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst, Enterprise Solutions

Reports To: Technology Manager, Enterprise Solutions

Department: IT Corporate Services

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid position. You will be required to work in our office a minimum of two assigned consecutive days every other week, plus an additional assigned day each month. You are encouraged to work from the office more frequently if desired, and some roles may necessitate more in-office presence.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly driven Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Enterprise Content Management IT team. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a critical analytical expert, responsible for both business and technical assessments, aimed at enhancing efficiency and delivering business value to various teams. They will oversee the overall management of Non-Discretionary Production Support Incident Resolution and handle incoming Discretionary Enhancement Requests that support Equitable’s capture, imaging, and workflow applications across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request Management:
  • Collaborate with business leaders to grasp overall priorities across enhancement requests.
  • Manage a timeline of key enhancement initiatives and implementations.
  • Ensure self-service reporting of all enhancement request activities is accessible to business lines.
  • Gather relevant information regarding requests to assess associated risks.
  • Project Delivery:
  • Conduct systems analysis, problem-solving, and translate business requirements into functional specifications for complex ECM and cross-system projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on functional specifications, system flow diagrams, and technical architecture documents prepared by team members.
  • Perform quality assurance testing, including the creation and execution of test strategies, plans, and cases, as well as defect management to ensure solution quality.
  • Production Support:
  • With a focus on customer service, analytical skills, and technical expertise, this role will drive daily production support operations for the ECM support team.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Provide technical and functional guidance to production support analysts and developers, including prioritization, resource assignment, and operational process management.
  • Mentor team members for professional growth and development, contributing to performance assessments and participating in the recruitment process.
  • Engage actively in the Business Systems Analysis community of practice.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong expertise in writing functional requirements, use cases, and process flows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering complex solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Solid leadership skills in operational support, collaborating with IT teams to troubleshoot system health and communicate effectively with business partners.
  • Proficient knowledge of Enterprise Workflow, case management, or automation solutions, with experience in relevant technologies being an asset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for mentoring and coaching staff on IT service issues and processes.
  • Experience in resource management related to scheduling, project execution, and daily operations.
  • A collaborative team player focused on customer service excellence and adherence to processes.
  • Expert knowledge of ITIL service management processes, with specific experience in Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Desk competencies.
  • In-depth understanding of application infrastructure and database platforms.
  • Familiarity with content management and workflow concepts, web and client/server architectures, and database design.
  • Experience with Test Management tools and proficiency in MS Office Tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, DB2, C#, .Net, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/DevOps practices.
  • A university degree or equivalent technical education and experience.
