Position Overview
The Enterprise Solutions Analyst is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive life-cycle development of the university's enterprise applications. This role is pivotal in enhancing the functionality and user experience of systems within a web-based framework. Collaboration with various departments across the university is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough systems analysis and design following established standards. This includes project management, evaluating and documenting current and new processes, optimizing workflows for improved efficiency, and database design and development.
- Engage with the implementation team and liaise with both external and internal stakeholders during the deployment, upgrades, or transitions of enterprise applications.
- Ensure rigorous testing is performed prior to the deployment of new software enhancements. Maintain comprehensive systems and user documentation for applications managed by the Enterprise Solutions department.
- Provide ongoing training and technical support to clients, facilitating effective use and design of application reporting systems.
- Deliver high-quality programming and development alongside systems support, maintenance, and troubleshooting in both client-server and web-enabled environments.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years of experience with Relational Database Management Systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL) in a Linux/Windows environment.
- At least three years of experience with Tomcat and/or Apache web server.
- Proficiency in programming with object-oriented, GUI, and web development tools and technologies (e.g., Java, C++, Oracle Developer).
- Familiarity with systems such as Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, and financial reporting tools is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the OSI model for troubleshooting software and system issues.
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Office365 is advantageous.
- Background in developing applications and user interfaces in a web-enabled environment, with knowledge of PHP, SQL, and JavaScript is beneficial.
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with users of varying technical expertise.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- A passion for continuous learning in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Compensation
Position Grade: G
Salary Range: $50.05 to $52.90 with annual progression opportunities.
Work Hours: This is a full-time limited term position with standard hours of work from Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours may be required.
