Your role will encompass supervising the sanitation processes in all facets, ensuring that the facility maintains cleanliness and adheres to all necessary company and regulatory standards. • Engage in seek-and-destroy activities as necessary.
  • Actively represent Sanitation and Food Safety requirements to site leadership to drive changes that enhance plant practices.
  • Collaboratively manage FSQA and Sanitation team scheduling, review and approve timesheets, conduct daily team huddles, assist in investigations, and perform performance evaluations.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and backup to the Sanitation Manager and/or FSQA Manager in their absence.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations for yourself and your team.
  • Utilize personal protective and safety equipment as directed and report workplace hazards to the supervisor or employer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Biological, Chemical, or Food Sciences, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Food Safety role within food manufacturing environments, preferably in high-risk/high-care settings.
  • 1+ years of experience in Sanitation is advantageous.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, and GFSI schemes.
  • Experience with Sanitation procedures, cleaning systems, chemicals, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of the organization and third-party contractors.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Data-driven approach to problem-solving with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and third-party sanitation contractors.
  • Proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by business needs.

What You Will Gain:

  • Competitive salary and health benefits.
  • Generous discount on meal subscription services.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact by helping to feed families.
  • Chance to learn and grow within the organization.
