Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Farm Boy Inc. as a 12-month contract position. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products by monitoring and verifying food safety and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality management systems.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on food safety and quality control procedures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and records related to quality control and food safety.
  • Participate in sensory evaluations and shelf-life validation studies.
  • Perform data analysis and provide insights to inform quality control decisions.
  • Develop and implement process controls to ensure consistency and quality in production.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment with a focus on quality control and food safety.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and food legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and safety. The position may require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and may involve lifting, carrying, and handling heavy objects.
