Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products, from production to delivery. This is a 12-month contract position, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, food safety, and laboratory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality and food safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and quality initiatives.
- Provide training and support to employees on quality and food safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and maintain documentation and records related to quality and food safety programs.
- Participate in sensory evaluations and shelf-life validation studies to ensure product quality and safety.
- Perform data analysis and reporting to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, and laboratory management.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and food legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and concisely, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
