Position Overview:

The Air Freight Import Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the logistics of air cargo shipments. This position involves overseeing the entire import process, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily logistics operations for air freight shipments.
  • Establish and manage schedules with carriers and shipments.
  • Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation specific to each country.
  • Ensure adherence to both national and international shipping regulations.
  • Monitor and track all shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Generate and distribute reports as required.
  • Identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Confirm shipping rates with carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage shipping expenses through the accounting system.
  • Evaluate shipments and optimize load consolidation for cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met throughout the shipping process.
  • Conduct route analysis to determine the best transportation mode for customer needs.
  • Maintain daily communication with clients regarding pertinent issues and their resolutions.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new accounts, from developing standard operating procedures to execution.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in the international transportation sector or
  • Educational background in supply chain logistics or a related field.
  • CIFFA certification is advantageous.
  • Certification in handling dangerous goods is a plus.
  • BPD training, if applicable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships and practice active listening.
  • Customer-focused with the capability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and effectively organizing time to achieve objectives.

  • Excellent organizational skills and time management capabilities.

Language and Technical Skills:

  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Effective communication skills in a multicultural setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CargoWise is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Regular working hours apply, with potential for additional hours based on operational demands.
