The role of the Operations Team Lead involves overseeing the management of all air import shipments, ensuring their smooth transit and compliance with both corporate and governmental regulations. This position requires regular interaction with clients, international offices, and carriers. Additionally, the Team Lead is responsible for mentoring new employees and updating processes as necessary.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Oversee daily management and coordination of air import shipments.

• Direct the day-to-day operations of the Air Import Department.

• Advocate for processes and procedures that meet or exceed company KPIs.

• Establish and manage schedules with carriers and handle shipment tenders.

• Prepare and distribute reports as needed.

• Mentor and train new team members periodically.

• Identify issues proactively and implement effective solutions swiftly.

• Ensure cost efficiency in shipment handling.

• Evaluate shipment methods, consolidate loads, and select the most economical delivery options.

• Maintain daily communication with clients regarding relevant issues and resolutions.

• Manage the implementation of new accounts from standard operating procedures to execution.

• Demonstrate strong deductive reasoning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Address any arising issues within the scope of responsibility effectively.

• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Quality, Health & Safety:


• Support the organization's commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications.

• Perform tasks that assist DSV in achieving its quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives, adhering to the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.

• Ensure that daily activities promote sustainability and health and safety, minimizing environmental impact and workplace incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience


• Background in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field.

• At least four years of experience in a freight forwarding environment.

• CIFFA certification is an asset.

• Dangerous Goods certification is an asset.

• ACR designated status is an asset (for Airfreight only).

• Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Physical Demands


• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while working at a desk and on a computer.
