Job Overview:

The Air Freight Import Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the logistics of air freight shipments. This position involves overseeing daily operational tasks to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily shipment activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate schedules with carriers and manage shipment timelines.
  • Prepare and manage documentation specific to each country.
  • Ensure adherence to both national and international shipping regulations.
  • Monitor and track all shipments to maintain visibility.
  • Generate and distribute reports as required.
  • Identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Confirm shipping rates with carriers to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Manage shipping expenses through the accounting system.
  • Evaluate shipment options, consolidate loads, and select the most economical delivery methods.
  • Ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met throughout the shipping process.
  • Conduct route analysis to determine the best transportation modes for customer needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding relevant issues and their resolutions.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new accounts, from establishing standard operating procedures to execution.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in the international transportation sector or related educational background in supply chain logistics.
  • CIFFA certification is a plus.
  • Certification in handling dangerous goods is advantageous.
  • BPD training, if applicable.

  • Proficient in both French and English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships and practice active listening.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships.

Languages and Computer Skills:

  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Effective communication skills in a multicultural setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CargoWise is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Standard working hours apply, with potential for extended hours based on operational needs.
