Job Summary:

As an Operations Importation Aérienne Specialist at DSV, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth importation of air freight shipments. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and manage the importation process, from initial receipt to final delivery. You will work closely with clients, airlines, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage daily importation operations, ensuring compliance with DSV's policies and government regulations.
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with airlines and transporters.
  • Prepare and coordinate country-specific documents.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international regulations regarding importation.
  • Track and monitor all shipments.
  • Prepare and publish reports as required.
  • Identify and implement proactive solutions to resolve issues.
  • Confirm tariffs with transporters.
  • Manage importation costs via accounting system.
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select the most cost-effective transportation method.
  • Ensure DSV's KPIs are met throughout the shipment's movement.
  • Analyze routes for shipments to select the most suitable transportation method.
  • Communicate daily with clients regarding issues and resolutions.
  • Implement new accounts, from standard operating procedure to execution.

Quality, Health & Safety:

  • Support DSV's commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 – Montréal certification.
  • Perform tasks assigned to help DSV achieve quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives and follow all requirements outlined in DSV's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment policy.
  • Ensure daily activities are focused on sustainability, health, and safety, reducing the impact on the environment, supporting communities we work in, and reducing workplace incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in international transportation or a related field.
  • Studies in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • CIFFA certification is an asset.
  • Certification in hazardous materials is an asset.
  • BPD training, if applicable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to resolve client complaints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively to achieve objectives and results.
  • Ability to establish a team and team spirit.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Languages and IT Skills:

  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with CargoWise is an asset.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk working on a computer.
  • Regular working hours apply to this position; however, occasional overtime may be required to meet operational needs.
