DSV - Job Position: Operations Supervisor

Full Time

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the flow of all air freight shipments, ensuring their proper routing and tracking throughout the transit process. Key responsibilities include overseeing shipment handling in compliance with DSV policies and regulatory standards, liaising with clients, international offices, and carriers as needed, mentoring new staff, and refining both internal and external operational procedures. The primary duties and responsibilities encompass:

  • Daily oversight and coordination of air freight shipments
  • Leading office-level operations on a daily basis
  • Advocating for processes and practices that meet or surpass company performance metrics
  • Establishing and managing schedules with carriers and shipments
  • Generating and distributing requested operational reports
  • Identifying and proactively resolving operational challenges
  • Monitoring shipment costs
  • Assessing shipments, consolidating loads, and determining the most economical delivery options
  • Maintaining daily communication with clients regarding pertinent matters
  • Overseeing the onboarding of new accounts from standard operating procedures to execution
  • Exhibiting analytical reasoning, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions
  • Addressing problems within the scope of responsibilities
  • Complying with all company policies and guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Education in supply chain management, international logistics, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a transit environment
  • CIFFA certification is a plus
  • Certification in handling dangerous goods is advantageous
  • ACR designation status (specific to air freight)

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing computer tasks
  • Standard working hours apply, with potential for extended hours based on operational demands
