Your Role:

We are in search of an Activities Manager who will design and manage a vibrant recreation program that offers enjoyable and purposeful events, activities, and services aimed at fostering an active lifestyle for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a lively and positive environment within the retirement community.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, staff, families, and community partners.
  • Plan, promote, implement, and assess a comprehensive recreation program that addresses the psychosocial, physical, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents.
  • Supervise volunteers and/or staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate as a member of the management team, providing support to fellow team members.
  • Advocate for all Seasons programs and encourage wellness within the community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
  • Completion of a certified Recreation Therapist program (Applicable to Alberta).
  • A post-secondary diploma in Activation, Gerontology, Kinesiology, Recreation, or Rehabilitation from a recognized institution or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of staff, residents, families, and other professionals with patience, tolerance, and tact - Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and the capacity to supervise others.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others while creating a fun, creative environment.
  • Valid Class 5 License (AB) or G License (ON) with a clean driving record.
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
  • Current Safe Food Handler's Certification.
  • Current Smart Serve/Pro Serve Certification (Applicable to Ontario/Alberta).
  • Familiarity with retirement programming and community resources.
  • Experience working with seniors is an asset.
