About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kinesiology Program Coordinator to join our team at Schlegel Villages. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement exercise programs for residents, both individuals and in groups
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
  • Conduct resident transfer assessments and provide education sessions on lift and transfer techniques
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Kinesiology Co-Op placements, students, and volunteers
  • Facilitate education sessions on active living and body mechanics
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members

Requirements:

  • Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behavior and exercise rehabilitation
  • Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (asset)
  • Experience working with seniors and/or individuals with cognitive or physical impairments
  • Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (asset)
