We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Recreation Team Member to become part of our dedicated team supporting our retirement community.
Position Overview:
As a valued member of our Village, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our residents through engaging recreational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embrace and promote our resident-focused social environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality recreational programming.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and understand the unique needs of each resident, advocating for their involvement in care decisions.
- Foster meaningful relationships with residents, their families, and fellow team members to provide comprehensive care that prioritizes quality of life.
- Assist in the planning and execution of programs that align with residents' holistic health care objectives, encouraging growth in physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and cognitive areas.
Qualifications:
- Completion or enrollment in a diploma or degree program in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia is an asset.
- A passion for our mission and values that define life in our Village.
- A respectful and compassionate demeanor towards residents, families, and colleagues.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with the five domains of Therapeutic Recreation that enhance individual health.
- Understanding of recreational therapy practices and techniques aimed at improving residents' overall well-being.
