Position Overview:

As a Recreation Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. We are looking for individuals who can commit to part-time hours on a biweekly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

As a new member of our Recreation Team, you will:

  • Embrace and promote our resident-centered social culture, delivering high-quality recreational programming.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand and advocate for residents' individual needs, ensuring their active participation in care decisions.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with residents, their families, and fellow team members to provide holistic care focused on enhancing quality of life.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs that align with residents' holistic health care goals, fostering physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and cognitive growth.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Enrollment in or completion of a diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology is advantageous.
  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia.
  • A passion for our objectives, village philosophy, and the family values that guide our community.
  • A caring and respectful demeanor towards residents, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Skills:

It would be beneficial if you have:

  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that support individual health.
  • Familiarity with recreational therapy practices and techniques aimed at enhancing residents' well-being.
