Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Department Manager to join our team at Fortinos. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for the effective operation of the bakery department, ensuring maximum sales and gross profit, and meeting sales goals and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a courteous and personalized experience for all customers.
  • Oversee the effective ordering, production, and merchandising of all bakery products, ensuring attractive displays to maintain and increase sales.
  • Plan daily production sheets to ensure variety in bakery products and effectively prioritize and organize all production and department functions.
  • Control inventory through pricing and signage of bakery products to achieve company goals and budget, maximizing sales and profits.
  • Schedule, direct, supervise, and discipline department staff, training all new employees.
  • Be responsible for the opening and/or closing functions of the department.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the safety and sanitation of the production and back room areas, adhering to Company Policy.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
Requirements
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified baker/decorator, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Previous managerial experience and knowledge of production schedules is a definite asset.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
