CB Canada is seeking a Strategic Human Resources Partner

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role is pivotal in overseeing performance management, talent acquisition, employee training, attendance oversight, workplace safety, and disability management. The Human Resources Partner acts as a strategic ally to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while fostering a motivating and supportive work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Human Resources team, establishing performance objectives and conducting performance discussions with team members;
  • Provide expert HR guidance to management, addressing conflict resolution, performance evaluations, career advancement, and succession planning;
  • Analyze employment trends and issues, recommending enhancements and training initiatives, and supporting the implementation of training programs;
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, attendance tracking, health and wellness programs, and recognition initiatives;
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies and conduct market research to attract top talent;
  • Facilitate ongoing training and development programs to enhance workplace culture and employee engagement;
  • Implement HR strategic initiatives as directed, ensuring alignment with organizational goals;
  • Collaborate with management to enhance attendance and performance culture while prioritizing customer service;
  • Promote a safe working environment by proactively addressing safety concerns and enhancing employee wellness;
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant operational departments;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including team members, guests, and regulatory bodies;
  • Review and update job descriptions as necessary;
  • Assist management with the interpretation and application of collective agreements;
  • Foster positive relations with union representatives to improve communication and minimize grievances;
  • Conduct research and prepare confidential reports related to labor relations, grievances, and negotiations;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding licensing, health, and safety;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience of at least five years in progressively responsible HR roles;
  • CHRL/CHRP designation is preferred;
  • Experience in a unionized environment is essential;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed internal and external client expectations through effective service delivery;
  • Proven track record of providing HR support to multiple departments with diverse needs;
  • Strong confidentiality, mediation, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills, including active listening, writing, and presenting;
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, interpret data, and provide actionable recommendations;
  • Collaborative approach to strategy development and implementation;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems;
  • Active involvement in relevant HR networks and community initiatives;
  • Commitment to personal and professional development;
  • Ability to pass a criminal record and credit check as required.
