Your Opportunity:

The Clinical Operations Unit Leader plays a crucial role in delivering interdisciplinary clinical guidance and operational oversight for patient care units. This position emphasizes a strong presence and engagement within the unit. Through effective clinical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation of staff, the Unit Leader ensures the delivery of exceptional patient care. This role is tasked with guiding team members to develop comprehensive and integrated care strategies, fostering the advancement of clinical practice quality enhancements, implementing evidence-based methodologies, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to both patient and staff safety.

Key Responsibilities:

The Unit Leader is accountable for the execution and sustainability of collaborative care practices and the appropriate scope of clinical operations that underpin quality performance and safe outcomes. Key outcomes of interest include:

  • Patient and family-centered care
  • High-performing teams
  • Quality management processes
  • Collaborative practice involving all health and support disciplines
  • Safe care and work environments

The Unit Leader is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and guiding team members in the provision of quality care and the enhancement of clinical quality. Resource utilization will be managed to ensure relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead) is advantageous. Proven experience in critical care, emergency services, and observation units is required.
