As a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Nurse Leader is tasked with the comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care. This role encompasses the responsibility of acting as a resource for the development and assessment of nursing staff competencies. The Clinical Nurse Leader will provide direction in clinical practice through the coordination and oversight of clinical operations, management of medical supplies, and optimization of patient flow within the surgical environment. This position requires a leadership presence, demonstrating professionalism, effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills. The Clinical Nurse Leader serves as a role model and leader within the department, overseeing specific surgical services and ensuring high standards of care.
Description:
In the capacity of Clinical Nurse Leader, you will oversee staff assignments, manage patient flow, and serve as a clinical resource and advocate for nursing personnel. Beyond delivering frontline nursing care as needed, you will assume a leadership role in fostering quality patient care and executing operational objectives. Your extensive knowledge, advanced clinical judgment, and experience will facilitate solutions for complex healthcare challenges across various levels, engaging with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators, and policymakers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, aligning with the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate in Nursing. Familiarity with advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, robotic surgery, and multi-trauma cases involving orthopedic, abdominal, and thoracic procedures. Peri-operative Certificate. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Peri-operative Nursing. Only candidates who submit a current resume will be considered for an interview.
