Job Summary:

The Unit Manager - Clinical Operations will provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight to the Addiction and Mental Health Adult Acute Units at Alberta Health Services. This role will ensure that services delivered by the team(s) meet the needs of service users and stakeholders through the application of best evidence-informed practice and a continuous quality improvement approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and manage a team of highly skilled and committed staff to deliver high-quality services.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the acute care team, including practical, financial, and complex clinical aspects of the unit.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and service user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with physicians, service users, and other invested parties to continually gauge the perception of the quality of services provided.
  • Provide coaching and assist in the delivery of competency-based education related to the Addiction and Mental Health Principles of Care.
  • Ensure that services delivered by the team(s) meet the needs of service users and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as nursing, social work, or psychology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of improving patient outcomes and service user satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
