Job Summary

Covenant Health Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to lead our Operative Services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of the Operative Services unit, including staff supervision, patient care, and operational planning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and unit efficiency.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Manage unit budgets, resources, and personnel to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
  • Current registration from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required.
  • Current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related clinical experience, including charge nurse experience.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly stressful environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, Health Studies, or Business.
  • Exhibits strong clinical knowledge and skill in Operating Room nursing.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for leadership and progression in career.
