About the Opportunity:

This is a unique and challenging opportunity to join the Neurosciences team at Alberta Health Services in a managerial capacity. The Unit Manager oversees the Neuro ICU, the High Intensity Unit (HIU), and the Stroke Observation unit. In this position, you will be a clinical leader, mentor, and advocate. You will support your staff to ensure the team can provide high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead change management and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promote team development and coordination
  • Manage staffing and clinical services
  • Provide clinical supervision and recruitment
  • Manage budgets and resources

Requirements:

  • Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • BCLS- HCP required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of recent ICU nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Previous Management or Formal Leadership experience
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of Neuroscience experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Charge Nurse Experience

About the Role:

The Unit Manager is accountable and responsible for the effective and efficient operation of an assigned unit or patient care area within a specific program. The Unit Manager's primary role is to support optimum patient care and unit operations through monitoring and organizing the workflow and delivery of patient care in the unit.
