Opportunity Overview:
The Clinical Operations Unit Leader plays a crucial role in delivering interdisciplinary clinical guidance and operational oversight for patient care units. This position is characterized by active engagement and visibility within the unit. Through effective clinical leadership, mentorship, coaching, and performance management of the team, the Unit Leader guarantees the provision of high-quality patient care.
This role is pivotal in coaching team members to facilitate comprehensive and integrated care planning, fostering the advancement of clinical practice quality enhancements, executing evidence-based practices, and proactively assessing, evaluating, and addressing potential risks to both patient and staff safety.
The Unit Leader is responsible for driving the execution of provincial, zone, and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives at the unit level. Establishing and nurturing robust working relationships with key stakeholders is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the execution and sustainability of collaborative care and appropriate scope of practice within clinical operations that promote quality clinical performance and ensure safe clinical outcomes.
- Focus on outcomes such as patient and family-centered care, high-performing teams, quality management processes, collaborative practice across all health/support disciplines, and safe care/work environments.
- Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and leading team members in delivering quality care and driving clinical quality improvements.
- Ensure resource utilization is relevant, efficient, and effective.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead) is advantageous. Proven experience in critical care, emergency, and observation settings is required.
