Your Opportunity:

The Clinical Operations Unit Leader is tasked with delivering interdisciplinary clinical guidance and operational oversight for patient care units. This role is executed through active engagement and visibility within the unit. By providing clinical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and performance management of staff, the Unit Leader guarantees the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position is accountable for guiding team members in achieving comprehensive and integrated care planning, fostering the advancement of clinical practice quality enhancements, implementing evidence-based methodologies, and critically evaluating, anticipating, and addressing risks related to patient and staff safety.

Key Responsibilities:

This role spearheads the execution of provincial, zone, and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives at the unit level. It is expected that the Clinical Operations Unit Leader will cultivate and sustain robust working relationships with essential stakeholders.

The Unit Leader is responsible for the implementation and sustainability of collaborative care and the appropriate scope of practice in clinical operations that underpin quality clinical performance and safe clinical outcomes. Some key outcomes of interest include:

  • Patient and family-centered care
  • High-performing teams
  • Quality management processes
  • Collaborative practice involving all health/support disciplines
  • Safe care/work environments

This role also involves coaching, mentoring, and leading team members in the provision of quality care and clinical quality improvements. Resource utilization will be relevant, efficient, and effective.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead) is considered an asset. Proven experience in critical care, emergency, and observation settings is required.
