Job Summary

MatchaTalent is actively seeking an Event Manager & Engagement Specialist to be part of the Technology Communications & Outreach (TCO) team within its Technology Oversight & Coordination organization (TOC). TCO plays a pivotal role in fulfilling TOC's mission of delivering value through effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The selected candidate will be tasked with driving and enhancing stakeholder engagement specifically for the organization’s sustainability technologies. As a vital member of the team, the Event Manager and Engagement Specialist will play a key role in the planning and execution of events and public relations campaigns for Technology Oversight and Coordination (TOC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate global workshops, events, and conferences focused on sustainability, climate change, and innovations in climate technologies.
  • Formulate annual event and branding engagement strategies for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize visits with key stakeholders, educational institutions, and other relevant organizations as necessary.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, develop scopes of work, and supervise work programs.
  • Support and promote corporate communication initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain an internal communication governance framework with regular strategic assessments and bi-weekly tactical reviews.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and strategies.
  • Create marketing campaigns, brand materials, and long-term strategies, overseeing the contributions of external consultants including web developers and videographers.
  • Manage brand resources and processes to ensure consistent brand representation, including message frameworks, visual assets, key terminology, and accurate data.
  • Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative market research to implement data-driven marketing campaigns aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate organizational growth by developing content marketing and demand generation strategies that enhance awareness and engagement.
  • Design and implement a strategic external events calendar to boost awareness among new prospects and expedite existing opportunities.
  • Develop a centralized events calendar for email campaigns, managing their complete lifecycle including creative development, data segmentation, and reporting/analysis.
  • Generate and brainstorm innovative ideas for events.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with marketing and other professionals to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Plan and implement initiatives to effectively reach target audiences for events through appropriate channels.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Media, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in event management.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field is preferred from an accredited program.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic communication and public affairs.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of addressing complex challenges and contexts.
  • Demonstrated confidence, integrity, and collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills, exhibiting a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Comfortable and effective in interactions with senior leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work and deliver results under pressure and to navigate challenges.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including to various regions globally.
