Role Overview

The HR Business Partner collaborates with business leaders to enhance our people and organizational strategies across the company. This position is responsible for managing comprehensive HR activities within designated client groups.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership

  • Implement people and organizational strategies within client groups and devise solutions for emerging business challenges.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing coaching and insights on business, team, and personnel matters.
  • Oversee core HR processes within client groups, ensuring effective communication and support for managers and team members.

Talent Management

  • Take ownership of the complete talent acquisition process to fill open positions in line with established standards.
  • Develop and execute talent management strategies to ensure optimal placement of skilled individuals in appropriate roles.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance talent attraction, management, and development.

Culture Development

  • Utilize employee engagement survey data to create solutions that align with the desired company culture.
  • Ensure a positive onboarding experience for new employees.

Compensation and HR Operations

  • Manage compensation practices within client groups, making recommendations for salary offers and adjustments.
  • Utilize HRIS systems for reporting on workforce data.
  • Oversee the employee off-boarding process, including exit interviews and the return of company property.
  • Manage claims and leave processes, ensuring timely and accurate handling.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Interpret and administer company policies, providing guidance to managers and team members.
  • Conduct workplace investigations in accordance with company protocols.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead and support cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to address pay-related concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all HR aspects.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience with exposure to various HR functions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS or HCM systems.
  • Knowledge of provincial legislation related to employment standards and workplace safety.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
