Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to join our team as the Director of Human Resources at H&R Block Canada. This is a key leadership role that will drive organizational success through strategic HR initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Corporate Culture: Collaborate with the HR team to foster and maintain a positive corporate culture that aligns with our company values.
  • Human Resources Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive HR strategy that supports business objectives.
  • Training and Development: Drive training strategies for all employees, focusing on best practices, content, and agile delivery methods.
  • DEIB: Enhance our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by implementing initiatives that promote a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Talent Management: Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate, cultivate, maintain, and acquire the necessary talent to meet organizational needs.
  • Succession Planning: Lead, coach, and support the team to provide growth opportunities for high-potential individual contributors and people leaders.
  • Alignment and Compliance: Establish and implement a consistent approach to employment records to ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Develop exceptional sourcing, recruitment, recognition, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure outstanding customer experience.
Key Qualifications
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as Human Resources, Adult Education, or a similar discipline, and a minimum of 15 years of experience in various HR areas, with at least 10 years in people management and agile learning delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with strategic business needs.
  • Excellent English and French verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong personal leadership qualities and demonstrates a solid understanding of business operations.
  • Forward-thinking mindset and the ability to positively influence and drive organizational change.
  • Capable of partnering with and influencing senior leaders, as well as building relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Committed to delivering excellent HR services and operational excellence.
