About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at THE PORT HOUSE. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Training: Instruct and train cooks in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently delivered.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all dishes meet our quality standards.
  • Team Management: Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
