Assistant Vice President of Finance

As the Assistant Vice President of Finance at LCI Education, you will be an integral part of the executive leadership team, directly reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Your contributions will be vital to the financial health and strategic direction of our Canadian operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage actively in critical decision-making processes concerning financing, operational strategies, and developmental initiatives;
  • Provide motivational leadership to finance teams across international borders, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth;
  • Assist the CFO and VP with detailed analytical reports and performance metrics;
  • Manage operational budgets in partnership with the management team;
  • Oversee activities to ensure they align with established goals;
  • Develop and sustain a dynamic organizational framework for the finance department across various regions;
  • Lead global finance teams and work collaboratively with business units on strategies for long-term growth;
  • Facilitate global process standardization and automation initiatives;
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on financial performance and lead the annual budgeting process;
  • Proactively identify potential business impacts and suggest effective solutions;
  • Establish mechanisms to enhance project return on investment through thorough analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in finance-related roles;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, complemented by a CPA AUDITOR certification;
  • Postgraduate qualifications, such as an MBA, are advantageous;
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, continuous improvement, and change management;
  • Proficient in team leadership and contemporary management practices;
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial setting with hands-on involvement in daily operations;
  • Comfortable with information systems, data management, and complex consolidation processes;
  • Fluent in both oral and written communication.

This position requires interaction with both national and international clients and partners, thus a high level of proficiency in English is essential.
