Our client, a rapidly expanding entity in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join their team.

The VP of Finance will assume a pivotal role in the organization's development and will be a prominent, strategic leader capable of executing the company's vision for ongoing growth through both organic and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in establishing and leading a high-performing finance department, with extensive financial expertise in the service sector to meet the challenges of a swiftly evolving business landscape.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Finance will manage and oversee the financial operations of the organization, including the preparation of timely financial reports and the development of forecasts to predict future growth. The VP will also supervise financial reporting and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board, facilitating the company's growth strategy with a collaborative and transparent approach. Additionally, the VP will oversee human resources and IT functions.

The ideal candidate is experienced in the startup environment and possesses strong financial acumen. Stakeholder management and fundraising experience will be crucial.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, shareholder reports, tax filings, and reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Enhance costing models for direct and indirect cost allocations while monitoring burden and overhead rates.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to create client pricing strategies.
  • Evaluate sales and profit forecasts against actual results and budgeted expenses; implement necessary adjustments to future forecasts and budgets.
  • Review the planning process and recommend enhancements to existing methodologies.
  • Analyze operations to ensure optimal capital utilization, identify areas for improvement, and promote continuous enhancement.
  • Work with senior leadership to coordinate planning and set priorities for the planning process.
  • Examine long-term economic trends and assess their potential impact on future sales and market share growth.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), tools, and systems to monitor essential financial and operational metrics for reporting to the CEO, making actionable recommendations regarding strategy and operations.
  • Evaluate the financial viability of opportunities for expansion into new service areas.
  • Manage fund investments and collaborate with investment bankers to secure additional capital for growth initiatives.
  • Supervise long-term budget planning and cost management in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Engage in valuation and exit opportunity activities.
  • Review and approve board materials, quarterly, and annual shareholder reports.
  • Represent the organization to business partners, analysts, and investors, including financial institutions and auditors.

Management Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and train finance and HR team members.
  • Oversee accounting operations, budget formulation, and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor departmental performance and provide recommendations.
  • Continuously evaluate and ensure the finance structure supports growth.
  • Identify skill gaps and ensure proper recruitment and development of staff with HR support.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback and coaching, and take necessary actions to ensure performance and goal achievement.
Required Qualifications

Education

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.

Professional Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in financial management.
  • Strong expertise in revenue recognition, integrated billing, tracking, and service-side financial management.
  • Experience with service contracts, pricing strategies, inventory management, and supplier agreements.
  • Proven experience collaborating with senior management on exit strategy development and implementation.

Skills

  • ERP system implementation.
  • Process improvement, cost system development, and financial modeling.
  • Effective team leadership.
  • Provide expert financial guidance and strategic planning frameworks to support decision-making regarding exit strategies.
  • Bilingual proficiency (written and spoken).
