Key Responsibilities:

The Infusion/Injection Nurse is responsible for delivering specialized infusion and injection therapies to patients with oncology, autoimmune, and rare diseases in outpatient clinics or homecare environments. Effective communication and coordination are vital in providing exceptional service to patients, caregivers, and our clients.

Core Duties Include:

  • Administering medications via intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SC) routes.
  • Supporting and monitoring IV infusion treatments within clinical settings.
  • Tracking post-treatment responses and documenting all activities in accordance with established protocols and professional nursing standards.
  • Providing educational resources to patients, either individually or in group settings, based on program guidelines.
  • Ensuring consistent availability to accommodate patient appointment needs efficiently.
  • Coordinating with patients, case managers, physicians, and other departments to adhere to scheduling timelines.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as clinic audits and supply management.
  • Engaging in regular consultations and training sessions with management to maintain professional standards.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals regarding the implementation of product-specific programs.
  • Upholding nursing standards as dictated by regulatory bodies and company policies.
  • Completing additional duties as required.


Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • A minimum of 5 years as a Registered Practical Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • 5 years of experience with IM/SC injections.
  • 5 years of IV therapy experience, with or without IV initiation being advantageous.
  • A diploma or degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Valid provincial nursing license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency, or homecare settings is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills when interacting with patients and healthcare teams.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Access to a home computer with internet connectivity, printer, and fax machine.
  • Flexibility to accommodate pre-scheduled and last-minute patient appointments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within designated areas.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
