Position Overview: Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Humber River Health is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, serving a diverse community with a commitment to excellence. As a leader in digital healthcare, we are seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner to enhance our Oncology program.
Role Summary:
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including oncologists and palliative care specialists, to deliver comprehensive and patient-centered care. This role involves:
- Utilizing advanced clinical skills for patient assessment and care coordination.
- Implementing evidence-based practices to support oncology patients and their families.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care, including symptom management and follow-up assessments.
- Leading educational initiatives for team members on best practices in oncology care.
- Participating in research and academic collaborations to advance clinical practices.
Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner designation in Primary Health Care.
- Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- A minimum of three years of experience in acute oncology and systemic therapy.
- A Master's degree in Nursing.
- Preferred certifications include Oncology Nursing Certification (CNA) and membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
