Position Overview: Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Role Summary:

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including oncologists and palliative care specialists, to deliver comprehensive and patient-centered care. This role involves:

  • Utilizing advanced clinical skills for patient assessment and care coordination.
  • Implementing evidence-based practices to support oncology patients and their families.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct patient care, including symptom management and follow-up assessments.
  • Leading educational initiatives for team members on best practices in oncology care.
  • Participating in research and academic collaborations to advance clinical practices.

Qualifications:

  • Nurse Practitioner designation in Primary Health Care.
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in acute oncology and systemic therapy.
  • A Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred certifications include Oncology Nursing Certification (CNA) and membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
