Our Mission:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Fundraising Professional to join our team in the Development and Alumni Relations Office. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will play a critical role in advancing our strategic objectives and securing vital resources to support our academic programs and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect Identification and Cultivation: Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential donors for leadership and planned giving opportunities, utilizing your expertise in donor research and analysis.
  • Strategic Fundraising Initiatives: Develop and implement tailored fundraising strategies to support our strategic initiatives, leveraging your knowledge of donor behavior and philanthropic trends.
  • Donor Engagement and Stewardship: Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring exceptional service and a high level of satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with faculty members, senior volunteers, and other stakeholders to advance our fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Database Management: Utilize our database management system to track donor interactions, analyze fundraising trends, and inform strategic decision-making.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of related experience in a fundraising role, with a proven track record of success in leadership and planned giving.
  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, faculty, and staff.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), email, and Internet.
  • Database Management: Experience working with database management systems, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a post-secondary or not-for-profit organization is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Planned Giving: Experience and knowledge of planned giving programs and types of current/deferred gifts of assets and related vehicles is an asset.
  • Senior Level Volunteers: Experience working with senior level volunteers is an asset.

Notes:

  • Term Position: This is a one-year term position.
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines.
