Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Fundraising Specialist to join our Development team. As a key member of our leadership and planned giving team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support the University's strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tailored fundraising strategies to identify and engage high-potential donors
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty members, senior volunteers, and university leaders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans, aligned with the University's strategic objectives
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in major giving, and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities
  • Develop and implement stewardship programs to recognize and retain major donors
  • Work closely with the Director of Development to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major giving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Experience working with database management systems, such as Raiser's Edge or similar
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a post-secondary or not-for-profit organization
  • Knowledge of planned giving programs and types of current/deferred gifts
  • Experience working with senior-level volunteers and university leaders
What We Offer

The University of Toronto offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $95,627 to $122,290, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan.
