Accounts Payable Specialist

BA Blacktop Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to contribute to our finance team.
The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate processing of financial information. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining financial records with precision.
Key Responsibilities:- Process invoices efficiently, including matching packing slips and invoices, obtaining necessary approvals, data entry, filing, preparing payments to vendors, issuing payments (cheque runs), and conducting account reconciliations.
- Provide prompt and accurate responses to inquiries related to accounts payable.
- Offer support with reception duties as needed.
- Contribute to the finance team by performing journal entries, providing data for budgeting purposes, ensuring the correct application of taxes, and offering information and assistance to other departments.
- Perform additional clerical functions as required.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar accounts payable position.
- A high level of accuracy to ensure the correct processing of financial information.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Ability to utilize enterprise-level financial record-keeping software systems, spreadsheets, and email applications.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- The capacity to manage a high volume of work effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Post-secondary accounting courses are preferred.
