Continuing Care Physiotherapy Expert

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our Continuing Care team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness, and solve problems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the community
- Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion and physiotherapy treatment
- Provide supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistant(s)/rehab assistant(s)
**Working Conditions:**
- Based at various satellite offices, traveling to clients' homes throughout HRM and Hants County
- Member of the Community Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team at Continuing Care, liaising with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary care teams, and community and service providers
About You
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Graduation from a university with a degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- One year post-graduation employed as a Physiotherapist required
- Continuing education course in area of interest is an asset
- Maintain current certification in CPR
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Community experience is preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home/community visits
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
This is a part-time position, 80% of full-time hours, with a short assignment of 60 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and Incentives
The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $42.89 and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
