The Physiotherapist, under the direction of the Manager of Continuing Care, plays a vital role in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to establish and achieve shared objectives. This position involves working closely with individuals, families, and groups within the community to assess, diagnose, and implement treatment plans for patients. The physiotherapist also provides education and guidance to other healthcare professionals, the public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion and physiotherapy practices. Additionally, this role includes supervising and evaluating physiotherapy students and overseeing the work of physiotherapy assistants and rehabilitation aides.
The physiotherapist operates from various community locations, traveling to clients' residences throughout the region. As a member of the Community Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team, the physiotherapist collaborates with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary teams, and local service providers to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
QualificationsWe invite applications from candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution or equivalent
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for Canadian Physiotherapy Association membership
- A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience as a Physiotherapist
- Continuing education in a relevant area is considered an asset
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in community settings is preferred
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for home visits
- Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous, with French being preferred
Candidates are encouraged to ensure their resumes reflect all pertinent education, experience, training, and certifications.
Work Schedule- Part-Time Position (80%), Short Assignment; 60 hours bi-weekly
- Flexible hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
The hourly wage for this position is $42.89.
