Community Physiotherapist

As a Physiotherapist within the Continuing Care sector, you will report directly to the Manager and work collaboratively with your colleagues to establish team objectives and evaluate overall effectiveness. Your role will involve engaging with individuals, families, and groups in the community, where you will assess, diagnose, and implement treatment plans for patients. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in educating various stakeholders, including other healthcare professionals, the public, family members, and caregivers, on health promotion and physiotherapy interventions.
You will also be responsible for supervising and assessing physiotherapy students, as well as overseeing the work of physiotherapy assistants and rehabilitation aides. Your work will primarily take place in various community settings, requiring travel to clients' residences throughout the designated service areas. As a member of the Community Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team, you will liaise with multidisciplinary care teams and community service providers to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
QualificationsWe invite applications from candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution or equivalent
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience as a Physiotherapist
- Additional continuing education in relevant areas is advantageous
- Current certification in CPR
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in community settings is preferred
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for client visits
- Proficiency in additional languages is an asset, with a preference for French

Work Schedule- Part-Time position at 80%, with a total of 60 hours bi-weekly
- Flexible hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
The hourly wage for this position is $42.89.
Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, in addition to a defined benefit pension plan.
