Physiotherapist - Tertiary Care, Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Expert

The Physiotherapist reports to the Program Manager and as a member of a clinical team, the physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced physiotherapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or an acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. The candidate should also have Basic Life Support Certification and continuing education courses in areas of interest. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and diagnose patients with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities
- Treat patients in a tertiary care setting using evidence-based practices
- Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers
- Provide supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and assistants
- Collaborate with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives
This is a full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The physiotherapist will work shifts over a 7-day per week schedule, including weekends and holidays. The position is approximately a 12-month assignment.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $42.89 per hour. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
