Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee our engineering division, with a primary focus on bridge and port infrastructure. This role is designed for a candidate who possesses exceptional leadership abilities, coupled with a strong background in business development, project oversight, and technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all engineering initiatives.
  • Manage the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry standards.
  • Drive business development efforts to expand our service offerings across Canada.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to build and mentor a skilled team of engineering professionals.
  • Engage with technical organizations and represent the company at industry conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Undergraduate or Graduate Engineering Degree.
  • Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Nova Scotia.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering designs, including familiarity with relevant codes and construction practices.
  • Experience in material design, particularly with structural steel, reinforced concrete, FRP, and/or wood.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing bridge and port structures, along with heavy industrial projects.
  • Experience or a specific interest in structural health monitoring (SHM) is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset with innovative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior and intermediate design professionals.
