Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee our structural engineering division, specializing in bridge and port projects. This role involves providing strategic leadership, driving business growth, managing projects, and offering technical guidance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all engineering initiatives while expanding our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our client-centric organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a skilled team of engineers and technical professionals.
  • Drive business development efforts to enhance our service offerings across Canada.
  • Oversee project management activities to ensure timely and profitable delivery of engineering solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and technical organizations.
  • Participate in industry conferences and represent the company in professional settings.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Undergraduate or Graduate Engineering Degree.
  • Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Nova Scotia.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering designs, industry standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Experience in material design, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, FRP, and wood.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing bridge and port structures, along with heavy industrial projects.
  • Experience or a specific focus on structural health monitoring (SHM) is a significant advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset and innovative thinking.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Experience in mentoring junior and intermediate design professionals.
