Position: Senior Structural Design Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 Per Annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to become part of a prominent organization. In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Director and play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards in design. Your responsibilities will encompass various facets of design within the company’s operations. With a focus on continuous training and development, this organization is committed to enhancing the skills of its workforce while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. This position is ideal for a design engineer eager to take on a challenging role within a stable and reputable company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in designing structural steelwork members and connections, with experience in software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, and Masterseries.
  • Knowledge of temporary works design is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, raise pertinent queries, and coordinate effectively with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Manage design budgets efficiently.
  • Report directly to the Head of Design.
  • Participate in meetings as required.
  • Adhere to company quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet project requirements.
  • Support the training of junior design engineers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure positive feedback.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the organization and share our principles and objectives with the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in structural steel design (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
